Jiancheng Multipurpose Building: New Social Welfare Hub in Datong District
Located next to Jiancheng Park in Datong District, the green building houses numerous social welfare facilities, including public nursery, youth welfare center, daycare for disabled individuals, senior citizen community care center, and borough activity center. On the first floor of the building, there is a public nursery, a community care station for the elderly, and the borough chief’s office. The borough resident activity center is located on the second floor, while the disabled individual services center takes up the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth floor. The seventh floor is dedicated to childcare services, while the youth services center can be found on the eighth through tenth floor. The facility for disabled and disadvantaged individuals under the independent living program is located on the top two floors of the structure. The inauguration ceremony for the building was held on July 17. Dignitaries attending the event include Mayor Chang Wan-an, Social Welfare Commissioner Yao Shu-wen, City Councilor Lin Chen-yu, City Councilor Yen Juo-fang, and Chief Chen Jing-yun of Guangneng Borough. During his address, Mayor Chiang remarked that providing citizens with tangible social welfare services is a priority for his administration. The new building is a social services hub that serves children, disabled individuals, senior citizens, and families in the community. This facility offers convenient access to needed services, freeing local residents from the hassle of traveling far to secure necessary resources. Commissioner Yao pointed out that the facility serves as a milestone for service provision in Datong District. She looks forward to the Jiangcheng Multipurpose Building becoming an “outstanding partner” for residents by providing localized social services in a warm and friendly manner.
