Mayor Attends Tianmu Beer Festival, Tries Bartending and Making Masala Chai
During his address, the mayor noted that the event attracted a total of 120,000 visitors in 2022. This year, the city government has joined hands with the Tianmu Market Development Association to invite vendors to set up 80 booths offering a variety of food and beer. There are also stage performances by groups such as Amazing Show and Cosmos People. Chiang recalled that while he recalled the hot weather when he visited the event last year, he was impressed by all the different types of beers and local delicacies available at the stalls. He described the experience of drinking ice cold beer and eating delicious snack under the blazing sun. Expressing his gratitude to the Chairperson Tang Di of the Tianmu Market Development Association, the mayor noted that there is a raffle during the weekend event which offers prizes such as a pair of roundtrip plane ticket to South Korea and GOGORO motorcycle. At the end of his speech, the mayor stressed that Tianmu is known for its internationalized community – being the home to several embassies and international schools. That is why the Beer Festival integrates elements from various countries. The organizers also invited representatives from the US, Mexico, and South Korea to the event.
On July 22, Mayor Chiang Wan-an attended the 2023 Tianmu Beer Festival. He also tried out serving customers delicious beer as a temporary bartender and took lessons from an Indian restaurant chef on how to make masala chai.
