Summer Hike along Tiaomi Historical Trail, Tudigongling Historical Trail
On July 22 (Saturday), the Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) will hold the third session of hiking trail eco guided tours. The destination of the tour will be the sixth section of Taipei Grand Trail – Tiaomi Historical Trail and Tudigongling Historical Trail. For those who think that the half-day trip is not enough, they can explore nearby destinations such as Fuyang Eco Park, Maokong, and Zhinan region. According to the agency, the event will start at 8 AM in the morning with all participants meeting up at the Liuhe Greens next to the bus stop at Songren Road. After splitting up into small groups, the participants will head up to Tiaomi Historical Trail from Alley 100 on Wuxing Street Lane 600. They will travel past sites such as the entrance of Dexin Coal Mine, Lord Tiaomi Temple, and finally to the point with the highest elevation of the trail – the mountain gate of Lord Tiaomi Temple. For the next part of the trip, the visitors will move along Chongde Street in the direction of Tudigongling. They will arrive at Anlu Temple – which houses a small ancient shrine dedicated to the Earth God within its parameters. The Earth God temple is also the namesake of the trail. The trip will conclude at the small plaza in front of the temple, and participants can turn in their completed survey in exchange for souvenirs. Veteran guides will accompany the group throughout the tour. The organizers have also set up four stalls along the way, promoting topics such as agriculture and food education, as well as the history and development of the trail and the community. With room for 300 participants, registration for the tour will be accepted starting July 7.
