The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will hold the “Rekindle the Love with Sustainable Recycling” recycled furniture sale at the Neihu Recycled Furniture Auction House between 9 AM and 5 PM on August 20.

According to the agency, the upcoming sale will comprise nearly one thousand merchandise spanning recycled furniture to revamped bicycles. There will also be an area dedicated to early bird deals for students with limited number of renovated goods.

For those who wish to learn about the secrets of prolonging the usability of household appliances, the agency will also hold a class on electric fan maintenance and repair. Hopefully, the event will also help raise the awareness on recycling and the importance of a green and sustainable lifestyle. In the afternoon, there will be three class session teaching participants how to make their own pencil holders from wood. Registration is accepted on site and limited to 20 students per session. The material fee for each session is NT$100.

Other activities at the venue include home furniture inspection and repair; waste recycling promotion; reclaimed soil/compost giveaway, old clothing (excluding underwear) exchange for small souvenirs, and secondhand goods charity auction.

The agency reminds visitors that access to the early bird deals for students will require one’s student ID, while those planning on purchasing recycled bicycles will need to show either student ID or government-issued proof of low-income family.
