The classes feature subjects such as: photography and image editing; smartphone and computer operations; e-commerce; useful apps for day-to-day life; mobile phone photography; LINE applications for daily life; watching on-demand video on mobile devices, and security tips for surfing the Internet. This allows learners to strengthen mastery over digital tools and to secure more convenience in their day-to-day life.</p><p><br></p><p>Starting 2023, the agency selected 6 city administrative districts (Wanhua, Daan, Xinyi, Songshan, Shilin, and Zhongshan) which have a higher percentage of senior citizens over the age of 65 for the pilot program &ldquo;Taipei Digital Assistant.&rdquo; Under the initiative, the city government utilizes local borough offices and community care stations as base of operations for neighborhood volunteers, who can assist residents with issues spanning digital tools to smart technology and answer digital/IT-related inquiries during one-to-one consultations.</p><ul><li><a target="_blank" href="https://www.facebook.com/taipeifreedigitalcourse"><img src='images/Icons/link.gif' alt='' border='0' /></a></li><li><a target="_blank" href="https://www.facebook.com/tpi.digihelper"><img src='images/Icons/link.gif' alt='' border='0' /></a></li></ul>]]></description><pubDate>Thu, 30 Nov 2023 02:05:00 GMT</pubDate></item><item><title><![CDATA[Open Government]]></title><link>https://english.doit.gov.taipei/News_Content.aspx?n=519F92A9E4860CD4&amp;s=EA63BE9A62F4B27E</link><description><![CDATA[<p>To promote the open data policy under the principle of open government, Taipei City Government integrated open data from affiliated institutions under a single portal website, allowing citizens to browse the collection and software developers to utilize the database.</p><p><br></p><p>Taipei City Government is the first government agency in the nation to implement an open data policy. First introduced in September, 2011, the former platform was upgraded to the &ldquo;Grand Data Platform&rdquo; (<a href="https://data.taipei/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Grand Data Platform (Chinese)">https://data.taipei/</a>)(Chinese) in June of 2019. Citizens and companies can access and utilize datasets grouped into 22 categories on the platform including transportation, finance, public works, medical care, statistics, and culture.</p><p><br></p><p>With the rapid growth in open data applications, the demand for quality data has seen a significant rise. Taipei City Government established a set of standards for open data, including aspects spanning format to coding to management. This ensures that data from respective agencies have a set standard and the departments will continue to carry out scheduled inventory check, thereby comprehensively improving the quality of the open data.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to the continual upgrade in both quantity and quality of open data, this strategy ensures the enhancement of city employees&rsquo; capability in digital governance and the promotion of open data policy and applications to citizens.
