DOH: Taipei City’s COVID Update for July 3

Pandemic prevention personnel at workThe Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,772 new domestic cases of COVID-19 for Taipei City on July 3. As of July 2, a total of 17,948 people remains under stay-at-home care, while 2,150 individuals are under managed home isolation.
 
The Taipei City COVID-19 Home Care Center adjusted its service program starting July (version 2.0). Continued services will be provided by the 12 district health service centers. The original service hotline is now replaced by the respective phone number of each district centers, with service hours lasting from 9 AM through 5 PM, 7 days a week.

While Taiwan has seen a steady decline of COVID-19 infections, DOH reminds the public not to let their guards down as there has been a rise in confirmed cases around the world due to new virus variants. In the interest of maintaining current pandemic prevention measures, the Central Epidemic Command Center announced that the mandatory face mask policy will remain in effect through December 31. The community-level enhanced COVID-19 monitoring program will also last through the end of this year.
 
DOH reminds the public to continue to adopt best practices (wash hands, wear face mask, enforce cough etiquette, etc.), avoid crowded places, and comply with the guidelines published by the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control on COVID-19 prevention. Those who have yet to take their vaccines should get vaccinated as soon as possible.
